cd player is a 740mp , it plays “data” burned discs, and has 2 outputs and 1 input in the back… all 3 are rca outputs, i bought a Y-cable from the store, dual rcas into one 3.5 mm headphone jack and plugged it into my ipod… all i get is static, even when its unplugged… i am in AUX mode on the cd player… anybody ever use this… maybe for a dvd player or xm or mp3 player???

thanks in advance

FYI - those three outputs You are using are all RCA OUTPUTs. Front, Rear, Substage (see pic).
You do not plug a source into this deck **unless You have the proper equip**

Per Pioneers support webite:

> **Using the AUX source**

>

> An IP-BUS-RCA Interconnector such as the

> CD-RB20 or CD-RB10 (sold separately) lets you

> RCA output. For more details, refer to the
>
> IP-BUS-RCA Interconnector owner‘s manual.

Pioneer loves their proprietary gear my friend.

Nikuk is right, you need their bus adapter to run Aux on the pioneer. There are headunits out there that have aux in directly on the back of them hence some mid-to-high end panasonics and most of your sonys. JVC, Alpine, kenwood, ect… all do it the same way as pioneer, the adapter costs around $20

yes. Either get the plug for $20, or burn all the media that is on You iPod onto 2464856 cd’s.

I dunno about the sound quality of the passthrough, as I dont have a portable mp3, but I’ve heard a few good reviews.

I’m pretty sure that most Pioneers don’t have an Aux In.

JVC’s seem to have the most models with Aux In but they are the suxor.
