I am selling a phone on Ebay and a bidder asked me for the ESN or MEID. Is it safe to give this information? The only reason I ask is because I thought there was a way to activate phones online using just this. It is a Verizon carrier phone btw. Thanks in advance.

I always say that I will not give out or list the ESN or MEID in the auction but will guarantee that it is clean and able to be activated. I offer a full refund including shipping if the ESN/MEID comes up as “bad”.

I’ve sold many phones like this on eBay without issues.

That was my thought, and I went ahead with it. I told the bidder that the ESN is clean, so hopefully that is good enough for him. Thanks!
