# Quiet 3" Exhaust ?

^^ I have yours/stallmers/erics old 3" and the magnaflow muffler on it has nothing in it so its basically straight 3" exhaust and its very quiet at idle and cruising. DD the car and have been next to, in front of, behind, and gone by tons of PO’s and have yet to be yanked for exhaust. I never even got pulled over with my 2.5" open exhaust on my K20 and I drove that around for quite a bit and that was possibly one of the loudest exhausts I’ve ever heard.

ty, ill look those up.
also, Joey’s honda is MAD quiet. im wondering how that works. its a larger pipe than mine and it SHOULD technically resonate more. both are turbo cars so that muffles a bit, but still, what a difference in sound.

does vibrant have good resonators too? im thinking of changing my setup to twin mufflers and twin resonators

im currently running a vibrant exhaust… high flow cat… 18" res and catback.
before the resonator it was terribly loud… but now its much nicer! wish they had a longer res than 18" though.

Magnaflow straight through 3 inch with a generic muffler / synapse special here.
car isn’t loud driving around town. its actually probably the quietest thing on the car

Your fuel pump is louder, can be heard from inside residential bathrooms.

I’ve learned to hate magnaflows. Every one I’ve personally experienced for any amount of time will sound awesome for the first couple thousand miles, and quickly begin deteriorating and end up with a horrid rasp.
This is what I’m dealing with at the moment, same goes for my roommates RSX, and I’ve heard this same thing from a bunch of track guys.
Borla XR1 will be my next muffler. Ceramic/rock wool packing\>steel packing.

I dont think my muffler is off the shelf either, I’ve never seen it sold. Maybe its a dealer/fabricators line or something idk
