I’m trying to make the Hybrid guys feel guilty enough to push the black beast out and snap some pics of it with the new rims on, obviously it’s not working, I mean it’s not as if they don’t have anything better to do eh:D 😃 😃

I never would have believed a 9 1/2" wide rim would go on this car, now I’ll have to spend all my time polishing these things and I hate cleaning cars!

Well while we’re sitting around waiting for parts and a slot to screw this thing together I have a question of you lot-
Powder coating wheels, I want to get the old rims powder coated black and put the drag radials on them, the question is which black- flat, satin or gloss??
Being and old shiny Centerline drag racer sort of guy black rims are a mystery to me- you thoughts please…

I would probably do satin or a bit on the flatter side.

Tom I have the gravity rims to look cool, I want some black race rims at the track with the sticky tires on.
Satin is my fave I will see what the powder coat guy can do?

And now I discover that the local powder coater is NOT doing anymore wheels this year, he’s swamped with work so it looks like the A1 rims will be staying silver, unless I get the spray can out??
Or anyone knows of another vendor who’s good…

Those guy’s at Eastwood tools sell a nice little powder coating kit AND they sell bronze powder, I wonder how hard it could possibly be, I have a sandblaster to strip the rims and an old electric oven- hum…
Anyone ever try to do this, how difficult is is questions questions…

PM bpipe95. He had his wheels done in Rochester by some guy and they came out incredibly well. Custom mixed color and everything. It wasn’t too expensive either.

How’s about I pay the local bodyshop a fewbucks and have the rims painted, just a thought?
Or looking at these nice rims in the flesh maybe I could just leave them silver, decisions decisions

Painted will work, especially with good prep. Might not be much cheaper than powdercoating though.

See what I’m saying? The people want bronze 😛
It looks clean as silver too, but the bronze will set that apart. Just IMO of course.
