# Radar Detector Band X

I used to have it disabled on my V1, but now that it’s set “on” on the 9500 and after reading online that NY is one of the states that still uses X band in it’s cop cars I’m hesitant to turn it off.
Anybody have any knowledge on which districts exactly still use X band and whether or not any of them are around here or North?

I got popped by a saratoga county sheriff with x-band before I disabled it.
I will keep it disabled though, as it’s just way too annoying to keep it on, and I tend to not really speed off of highways.

Ah I just leave it on. whip up a remote mute button so you don’t ahve to go reaching for the knob all the time.

The 9500 learns real and fake x bands (police and not police) you can also set them yourself. IIRC

I find it hard to believe they are using x band. Maybe older cop cars…
One thing I’ve found out is that my 8500 x50’s k-band will go off from the blind spot warning system some cars have. As soon as you get near their blind spot my radar goes off and I see the indicator light on the other car’s mirror turn on.

unless new york started using x band again they don’t use it. nj does though, still never pay attention when it goes off in jersey though.
