lol, this thread amuses me i wish i could produce a film from my brain on what a ā€œvoly firefighterā€ really is iā€™d like to see the critics pool up brain matter and blood, and then try to go home and have dinner with the family iā€™d like to show you financial numbers, especially seeing how volys save patients and the town alot of money vs. rural metro/paid firefighters iā€™d like to show you what its like to cut open a car at 2am, and having a person screaming in pain over broken legs, and then trying to go back to sleep iā€™d liek to show you the multiple times iā€™ve went, when i have many other things to do, to Childrens or ECMC because the local level of care wasnt capible of handling the emergency iā€™d like to show you the horrors of watching a family member being told that their loved one has just died, and then being able to goto thanksgiving dinner after awhile, the traumaā€¦ the despairā€¦ the death desensitises you to it. I do get awhile that all volys ā€œareā€ is ā€œguys who fight a few fires and get drunk everynight.ā€ while some of that is true, its a gross exaggeration and generally false. i highly wish all of you on this board would volunteer. We are at our lowest levels in years, and need all the help we can get. ---
