if ur turbo is scrapping on the housing he dont care. like a BOSS he will grind the tips of the wheels and balance the shaft/wheels and u have ur self a turbo that spool faster and has more fliw at top end. he z total boss. but im not speaking for him just saying that’s probably what s gonna happen. _he obviously will change bearing and seals before he grinds the fins_ i didn’t think anyone would think he would skip the rebuilding step. ---

if there is contact between the wheel and housings, shaving the wheel down is just a band aid on the problem. there will still be axial play of the shaft and will get worse until there is contacts again. shaving the wheel down must be a method of repairing damaged fins after the axial play has been adressed (thrust waher). Also, increase clearance between the wheel and housing would NOT have increase spool or airflow, more likely the opposite. ---
