Kind of unrelated but I brought my parents car to a reputable shop once to get fixed and after looking everything over and plugging it in, they couldn’t figure put what the he’ll is going on with a bad misfire on it. They essentially gave up and gave the car back. Ended up giving it to Fn Skanks Pete who found the problems when the shop couldnt. It’s not always clear cut in these types of situations. Both of you guys should have communicated better on the spot at the time instead of trying to deal with the miscommunication now. ---

I’ve removed a few crank pulleys from manual transmission cars by placing it in fuckin’ gear and hitting it with the impact. I would only take the starter out and bind the ring gear it if it was an automatic, theres no real reason otherwise. Don’t be a fuckin’ ass hat. ---

I’ve been working on cars long enough to know how to remove a crank pulley, its not an uncommon thing to struggle when removing the bolt. We talked about locking the flywheel but the bolt was on so tight I would have likely damaged the teeth attempting that. Unless we had a tool that would bolt in place and was super sturdy with a good amount of tooth contact to spread the load. Being a former nissan tech, I found it bizzare that you handed me the phone to talk to my old coworker Joel. He said that he had a tool, but no clue if it would work on that motor. We agreed that I would get the tool and you would come back for a second attempt. I had already used all of my last resort ideas none of which damaged anything on your car. Other than the crank pulley ordeal I thought that everything went pretty smooth. Basic exhaust install and a few dyno pulls. Like I said before, you seemed cool with everything at the time and nobody got the impression that you were upset or dissatisfied. I did try that, This bolt was so stubborn I was beginning to lose hope. I used to use that method almost everyday when servicing toyota trucks. Counter clockwise spinning hondas can’t use this method though! ---

I really didn’t sweat it to much. I even gave you a $60 tip. Thats just how I am. I just know of other’s who have had to replace damaged front engine seals do to not going about removal correctly. The car came in with less then 3500 miles. Last thing I need to argue is seal damage. I’ve always been picky about who works on the car and how things are done. Here’s where someone foams from the mouth “saying well you should work on your own car” lol This place is so predictable…! The whole experience scared me away from doing pulley installs on my car. The 1-2 whp that it nets & whatever throttle response increase it creates on my nissan isn’t worth it. I decided it’s best to sick with the harmonic balance of the OEM crank pulley. Are we done dragging this out? I made reference to a poor install experience and all the young punks shat their pants!!! A simple phone call, I would have said not to worry about doing that install. Communication is important, I agree! Having browsed threads on this forum for sometime now, they all consist of thread bashing/dumping with relatively little constructive beneficial posts. It’s like Saved by the Bell around here. The behavior on a local forum is a far cry from that on the national level. ---
