Anyone who thinks a $50 3 foot hdmi cable is any better than a $5 3 foot hdmi cable is seriously retarted. 50 feet however i can say that i have seen the difference personally.

nah, I’m not going to go through the same argument all over again. In general, audio cable can make a difference. Let me try to make an analogy. If you up the boost .5 psi you will make a car faster (you know what I mean), but in a back to back blind test you may not be able to notice the difference. Does that mean the car is not faster, or that your lap time will not be faster?
that’s about the best way I can explain better speaker cable… 90% of people don’t know or care what stereo imaging is or even bother to move their speakers around until they get the image right. these people won’t understand or hear that a tweeter is rolling off smoother due to cables, but that doesn’t mean that it is not better.

they did the test with people who were audio experts, not joe shmo.

no, it’s about when I’m listening to some music at home I hear the voice roll off smoothly and not in a sharp digital manner.
imagine listening to a 128mp3 vs. the same thing from a CD… kind of like that.
anybody can be self proclaimed audiophile, I don’t even consider myself one…
but you better believe that before I drop a trackday’s worth of money on upgrading cable I had better be getting some tangible value from it. Not all expensive cable is good.
all cable markups are insane… it’s never worth spending the money unless you really are an enthusiast.
I’m a car enthusiast because I spend time driving and want to make the experience the best I can. I’m into audio because I like to listen to music… It always makes sense to pursue the best you can get in any category of something you enjoy.
I still contend that I can show anybody the difference between good and bad cables in my living room, no experience needed, but that doesn’t mean you’ll care.

if the rest of your equipment is top shelf then I’d take that challenge provided I pick the songs… but I would probably do better in a double blind on my own equipment because I’m more used to it.
you put good cables on shit and you won’t hear a difference.
If you listen to a 128kb mb3 vs. lossless and hear a difference then you’re good enough to tell cable apart.
