I moved back out to Colden, and currently I’m renting my Grandparents home/cabin in hopes to some day buy it.(if my dad will ever sell me it)… This place is really cool, natural wood beams and a huge stone fire place, but it needs some updating through out. The two back bedrooms were added on years ago, but they used cheap wood paneling on the walls. That all needs to go asap. The front smallest bedroom which were staying in now while re-doing the back rooms, was the first update. I demoed everything last week, and can confidentially say that I hate fake wood paneling. Started with new windows, the one on the left is roughly twice the size as the old one. Completely brightened up the room as expected. Mud and Taped the first layer tonight and moved the ceiling light up higher to fit a ceiling fan. Thank god my buddy Nick was here to help out and speed things up. Sanded the drywall last week/painted, and finished the flooring this weekend. Just need to trim and install some custom closet organization that I need to make. Then a large project of building closet doors, with some sort of a barn door feel. When I hang the new fan light, it should brighten the room up quite a bit.
