# Repaired HUD with new capacitor, but cuts out after five minutes...

I repaired my digital speedo using this tut^. By replacing the blown capacitor I got my digital speedo to work again, but for some reason it stops working after 3-5 minutes. my odometer and dash lights continue to work after the speedo stops (they never worked before I replaces the cap). Any idea what may be causing this? Shitty cap/installed backwards?

Unfortunately I dont have any input, but how hard was this repair? Also how likely is it that the capacitor is the suspect in the non working speedo/hud?

Not incredibly difficult to repair, just time consuming (drop steering column, disassembly of gage cluster and what not…). I think it would be the cap because my speedo/hud was not working at all before I installed the new cap…
I guess I should figure out what would cause a cap to fail, overheating maybe?

It very well could be since it turns off after 5 minutes.
