I’m looking to get a pair of riding pants. I do a lot of riding to and from work, so I may look at something to go over jeans / kakhis. I may also look into kevlar jeans. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone have any wreck / sliding on pavement stories and how well or poor your gear held up?

kevlar gives you an extra 3 seconds worth of sliding before it eats through since it’s such a thin layer. I have SHIFT kevlar jeans and I love them. They are a heavy jean and with the addition of kevlar keep a good bit of wind from cutting through in cooler weather (I still wear a cotton pant under them if its below 50) I paid about $100 for them from [Sportbiketrackgear.com](http://Sportbiketrackgear.com) they have great prices and ship times as well as killer customer service.

Nothing protects like leather but if you’re not into that then I suggest the SHIFT pants.
