our qual is 72 rounds… most of us have two pistols (compact and sub compact), thats 144 rounds JUST to qualify each quarter…on top of ANY tactical training… on average, a Federal LEO with my agency shoots ~300 rounds a quarter… (not to mention any off duty practice)

So we have our First Safe act arrest, an Iraqi war veteran. Seems a bit like entrapment from what I have heard so far.

It’s not fucking entrapment.
The cop told the guy he was a felon the guy said he didn’t care and sold him the firearms anyways.
Go look up the definition of entrapment and the case law that is referenced.

Wassell is charged with three felonies related to the sale of illegal weapons and one misdemeanor. **That misdemeanor is related to the SAFE Act which went into effect while the investigation was taking place.**
This whole thing was to catch people selling firearms to people who admitted to being felons.
SAFE Act wasn’t even passed when this started

It may not technically be entrapment but unless the guy was looking to break the law by finding a felon to sell to it is pretty shitty.

I think Cuomo 2016 is pretty much done after he rammed NY SAFE through unless we get a bunch more mass shootings and the national mood against additional gun control swings dramatically.

I think it was a 50/50 shot based on the landscape when it was passed

No if you didn’t own one you can’t buy one
Now all private sales need to through a FFL also.

So if you go to register it early next year how would they know the sale date? Just being devil’s advocate here. 🙂 It just seems strange the dates(deadlines) aren’t the same.

They wouldn’t so technically what you could do is buy a stripped AR lower and assemble the gun now or buy one from someone you trust(so you don’t end up on the news)

I’m in love.
It’s a mixmaster of parts, but it shoots beautifully and is in awesome condition. Traced the receiver back to 1944, and the barrel is date stamped March of '53. Stock is new American Black Walnut.
.30-'06 vs 5.56mm.
It shoots as good as it looks.
