.338 is a cool round because of it’s accuracy, and its uniqueness; few ranges around here will find a Lapua shooter. That said, if .50 browning is cheaper…
Some guys like LSX Camaros because they’re plentiful and easy to make fast. Some guys like the challenge.

Are you referring to Curt’s school in Naples? Long Gun Training?

Chris Kyle would disagree lol. 300 win mag was the round of choice followed by 338 when available.

I have a billet lower from Allstar. Even though a lower is a lower i’m super happy with theirs and happy to support a somewhat local company.

i have build 4 or 5 Ar’s from all star lowers and various other parts from them. My only complaint is there LPK the trigger is complete crap.

Im building an AR pistol on one of the lowers I bought here, (the plan is to go suppressed sbr), but I scratched the lower somehow while assembling the lower parts kit…
I’m pissed about it, because its not in one of the spots that most people scratch and I was super careful. (i’m sure i can get it touched up) But I’m debating scrapping the whole build on this lower and going with a billet lower before submitting paperwork to the ATF.
what are the pros and cons of billet vs cast vs composite.

Don’t run a composite/plastic lower.
Now that places have metal lowers back in stock its not worth it.
Between the billet vs cast its mostly appearance

It was never a choice to run composite, but i figured Id include it.

for a pistol id stay with your Cast, the Billet will be heaver. but besides that just looks mostly. Personally i think the billet is also a little stronger but wont matter for most builds. I was starting a .50bmg ar build and had a MEGA billet lower bc some people on the 50 bolt were bending and cracking the rear of the lower that the buffer threads into.

If you really want you can also strip it and ceracoat it. That does tighten up the tolerance between the lower and upper though. I did it with a lower and it worked out pretty good actually.
