I have a pistol grip and didn’t want to drill my stock for the screws, so I was going to do what you have and mount the holder via hard drive magnets lol ---

the replacement pins have been known to fail or cause the action to bind. The plastic can cut/pinch your fingers and in general sucks to use. This is especially noticeable after you use a good side saddle. If you insist on carrying ammo on the gun look here. Much more ergonomic and hand friendly. The velcro they use is some serious shit I have yet to see one fail, that they get seriously abused during matches at dump barrels. ---

I have an Mesa aluminum side-saddle on my 1100 Tac II. I’ve put about 500 shells through it and it has not budged. It’s great for a home defense weapon as the shells are always on the weapon but not in the tube, or as was my urban setup, a full tube with a reload. ---
