The commander on the ground in Afghanistan, Gen. Stanley McCrystal, hopped over a mere 600 miles from London to Copenhagen, to meet face-to-face with his Commander-in-Chief. The meeting aboard Air Force One could not have taken place this week unless the president was in the vicinity, immediately insulating him from GOP attacks about the trip. The meeting between the two was planned on Wednesday when the White House learned McCrystal would be in London." ---
