Anyone notice the ridiculous speed increase in road runner recently? I haven’t ran a speed test in a while but I just downloaded a file a 3mb /sec and was like whoa. I then proceeded to run a speed test ([www.speakeasy.net/speedtest](http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest)) and found that road runner pulled down on average 23 mbit /sec which is up from 10. I am ecstatic! The upload is still poop slow at 1 mbit/sec but w/e. ---

Nick, there could have been less people using it at the time you pulled the speed test. I’m in a neighborhood full of old heads and I’m the only one with RR, it’s BLAZING fast. ---

I’ve been constantly (if enough peers are available) maxing out downloads of torrents at like 1.7MBps. However, most days it’s around 1.1MBps. Upload caps at 120kbps, which sucks balls. I’m on Road Runner Turbo in an almost rural area. ---

Sounds like Verizon is getting to them. I get an avg of 15-20 here on normal and 30+ on the turbo. ---

mines been slower than ever. i havent seen higher than 6mb/s are you guys all using turbo? i used to always get 9-10mb/s rr used to be great, but most the other companies have stepped up their game. my buddy has comcast in boston he gets those numbers everyday. ---

Here is a sweet site for bandwidth tests. From Road Runner themselves. [http://speedtest.nyc.rr.com/](http://speedtest.nyc.rr.com/) You guys are lucky up there. We only get like 495kbps upload. 29mbps/sec download though. 🙂 Your bandwidth can also be determined by the age and/or make/model of your cable modem. I had an old Toshiba modem up until March. I was only getting around 4mbps down with crap 460kbps upload. I ended up buying a Motorola Surfboard Modem, they are retarded fast. If you have a really old modem, you can even go to Time Warner and they will swap/replace them for free, if its old or “has a problem” wink wink, know what I mean, say no more. A newer up to date modem should get you 12mbps and up. NOT GUARANTEED! But worth a shot. Cheers. ---

To AMD is the best: You just posted 29 MBS download speed? Is that on regular road runner ??? Because based on my LENGTHY and numerous service visits with these bastards, and several HEATED phone calls to TW, I have been told that your download speed is CAPPED at 10 MB/Sec.
