I agree, once and if verizon is able to launch TV in WNY it will be a issue, they’ll be able to offer, phone, mobile, tv and high speed… This will affect a large portion of TW’s younger crowd, but it isn’t going to bankrupt or disturb daily operations. All companies that have no competition do not worry about pricing, once verizon offers TV it will be good for both verizon and TW customers in the wallet. I don’t count DTV (since they don’t offer all verizon is shooting for or TW offers)

I was simply implying that if i worked at verizon i’d assume a lot of people are leaving tmobile, sprint, etc etc.
If i worked at dtv (or where sold) i’d assume a lot of people leaving dish, tw
bah i don’t really care. I didn’t say he worked at verizon. He clearly stated he worked at CC and that he saw people come in and sign up for DTV in groves.

Blue sky as in they were planning on growing and there were alot of measures being taken to ensure that their network would be top notch. True they never focused on their email and honestly i never used it that much for that reason but email is email meh i can live with it. I was only tech support there but i was there 5 years and devoloped some friendships with people high up in the company. They were pretty confident that if things had gone differently with the law issues adelphia would have been one of the top 5 cable companies.

this is total crap. If they start it here i will totally drop all my TW service. and make it plainly stated for my reason for leaving.
It is just a high up marketing scheme that they see other “services” like Verizon Wireless using to make millions. Use up too much bandwith… they nAIL you a bill to keep you from using it to much. Limiting things like internet bandwith is just a money making scheme that i can assure you is being lobbied by the music & movie industry.
“oh noes” peer to peer movie downloads are making the internet slow for everyone.
who exactly PAYS for bandwith? is it really like electricity or gas that has to be metered so who use more pay more?
I am currently debating calling in for FIOS 4 of my neihboors already made the switch i can tell by there encripted routers that show up on my laptop. If they only offered broadcast TV in the area i would be there already.
i cant really see sending more money to VErizon tho with the recent crap that has happened to my Wireless bill. another Metered service that fucks you royaly when you “use it too much”.
trust me. when TW loses out enough customers verizon would be the first company to drop a metered tier to roll in the dough. how exactly dose one Watch the bandwith used?
anyone with fios here have complaints or pricing for the installation? i was considering getting it installed now before they instigate a “installation & setup fee”. which when they hold down more of the demand & market share they will most certainly charge for.
I love how TW installation is free and you have no contract. but they still charge you $29 to just turn on your service. and want to charge you $29 to dissconnect the service.

well, AFAIK fios is a dedicated line so you don’t share it like cable… I could be wrong though. But if that is the case, Verizon would have no reason to implement something like this unless all for the purpose of sticking it to you because “they can”.

what would suck is that you’d have no idea what you are going to pay until the end of the month. and what if someone is stealing your wireless, that would just fuck you over big time without even knowing (i can get 2 of my neighbors’ easily).
and i’m pissed at FIOS cause they are on Harlem road and to the west, and i’m 2 blocks east and they said 6 months to a year! boo them

Considering I have 4 computers in my house running off one RR line on one modem id be against it.
I am one of the heaviest users, my dad, A limwire whore is the next.
I monitored traffic for a week to see what it was, about a year ago…
260 ish gigs of data

google it… you can “open” your connection via the modem to get more bandwidth but AFAIK, you can get caught pretty quick

It is taking advantage even though I didn’t mean it that way initially. A good majority of the things we download through torrents aren’t exactly legal obviously. But anyway I agree, if your paying for the service you should be able to use it to it’s full potential.

I honestly could care less if they do this. I have the higher end TW service hell all I do is roam MB’s and play COD4. Won’t bother me at all.
