> A Rochester man accused of robbing a bank in Irondequoit over the weekend is facing felony charges. > Damien Ponder, 27, was charged yesterday with third-degree robbery and fourth-degree grand larceny in connection with a robbery at the First Niagara Bank, 1000 E. Ridge Road about 9:20 a.m. Saturday, said Irondequoit Police Sgt. Barry VanNostrand. Ponder is accused of passing a note to a bank clerk and demanding cash. He is also accused of running from the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and the note. > While leaving, Ponder allegedly dropped his proceeds. He collected most of the items, **but left behind the robbery note, which was written on the opposite side of a traffic ticket he had recently received for an equipment violation, VanNostrand said. > The ticket contained Ponder’s name, date of birth and address and led officers straight to him.** > He was apprehended yesterday in Rochester. He was arraigned in Irondequoit Town Court and was remanded to the Monroe County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail. Ponder is slated to return to court for his preliminary hearing at 9 a.m. Friday. Reminds me of the idiot who was in my Army Reserve unit back in the day. He decided to rob a bank with his BDU top bearing his last name. ---

He must have learned how to rob banks from the guy that wrote his note on the back of his bank slip. ---
