# Router Help

To start I have a Linksys Wireless G router. For some reason once or twice a day I have to unplug the router and plug it back in for my internet to work. My laptop will say its made a connection to my network but there is limited or no connectivity. I’ll unplug the router and plug it back in and it’ll work fine for 6-7 hours. I’ll leave my computer for a while and come back and again no internet. Any of you 1337 H4x3rs help? Thanks

Try upgrading the firmware, or even putting a “hacked” firmware like DDwgrt or tomato.

+1, mine used to do this.

Upgrade the firmware, and reset the router by pressing the button for 30 seconds, 10 sec plugged in, 10 sec unplugged, then 10 sec plugged back in.

No shit… some Indian lady from linksys had me do this and it worked.

Common issue on the Linksys WRT54g’s. I’ve done the hacked firmwares on 3 or 4 and it’s worked flawlessly on each.

changing the physical location of the box may also help

Did the same thing and fixed the problem on mine
