If you crank it hydrolocked, you will bend a rod easy, then once it runs again with that bent rod its only a matter of time. lol, I drove on a bent rod in my D16 for 8 months, drove to CT and back twice, and drove it around town daily. Put prolly 3000-4000 miles on it. I changed the rod out, started it back up, and ran perfectly. That bent rod held up just fine.
