As soon as I saw the headlines about the Russian meteor explosion I said to myself, “They’re going to have this on camera because of all those Russian dash cams”. Is it safe to say that the “fire” you are seeing is them burning up while entering the atmosphere? Jesus I hope so, those things look they are the size of a fucking house. ---

17,150 miles is VERY VERY CLOSE. It really makes you consider how vulnerable we are. This might be a stupid question but is there any sort of action plan if we were slated for impact on a catastrophic level? Edit: That doesnt involve Bruce Willis or Ben Afflack ---

On a serious note, this thing weighed close to 10 tons. That’s huge! 500 people were injured, but only 34 went to the hospital.
