Why would someone start a motor outside a car? Except on a proper engine stand or motor dyno. Which i doubt he has. Most motors started just sitting there flop around like a dead fish the moment they are running. Not only dangerous but dumb becasue i will break shit.

Exactly this. Flash point of liquid gasoline is rather high. infact you can take a lit cigarette and drop it in a 50gal can of gas and it would go out!

Gas VAPOR or compressed gasoline is much lower, and could pop off. LIKE I SAID on page one… unless the can wasnt capped and it was hot out, expanding the container and letting vapors out, no way would it ignite.

+1 google warrior for the WIN

THIS, my jetta in Darryls shop is literally 4 feet from a bunch of fuel cans, and I am welding the ass end every night for the last week! (also next to the fuel are 3 big extinguishers)

> I can totally understand the skepticism especially from an outside point of view and the fact that Mike has cried wolf before to catch people off guard. This is no BS though. Rusty has no insurance besides liability just like a lot of us. It is VERY unlikely he will see any money and, if anything, his landlord will get something for the garage. Please don’t be so distasteful. The kid’s lost almost everything that he’s been collecting and working for for years. Just because you didn’t like the car doesn’t mean you have to be so fucking cold hearted and have that dumbass American mentality that everything is a fucking conspiracy. We were all 15 once too. People just love thinking that everything is an elaborate scheme.

NOPE, I am old and wise… not dumb and stupid. Kids think its so easy to fabricate shit and get away with it sometimes. I know MANY firemen, and one ex-arson investigator actually works in my office now, they both think this is fishy. Kids got a heck of a hole to climb out of, wither its all a lie or 100% truth and poor circumstances.

I know that he’s going through a rough time as it is with his car and wheels being destroyed but on top of that he has to read all about how he is being accused of being a liar/con artist etc. Not saying that’s what you’re saying but just think how you would feel if you had to watch your baby go up in flames and explain to the world what exactly happened.

Again dude, I dont know you personally, so I dont even know if you are honest here or not, claiming you know him well enough to have 2 honest shits about the situation. Sorry bro, thats the internet, nothing against you at all.

The facts are, he is WELL known to the “internet” and people have little to do other than dig up shit on the internet these days. so him making that claim “should I burn it or what?” jokingly I hope, but doubt, and shortly after seeing this. After the investigators do with job, he has alot of explaining to do for a judge if it comes down to it. Young people just dont fucking get that the internet isnt a big joke, and you can hide forever behind a keyboard! Pay the fuck attention to what you publish to the world… good or bad.

> I’m not saying he’s lying or telling the truth… I don’t know. But being from a long family of firemen, the story is just EXTREMELY far fetched. Maybe it was a 1 in 1,000,000 occurance, but its just very unlikely. Nothing personal to the guy at all.

Same here, and thats why i am sticking to its all bullshit, like I said from page 15 hrs after the kid posted the “ohhh noeeez, its on fire” video thinking its cool or something.

so far its looking like a big I TOLD YOU ALL SO from the KK camp!
