# Rusty Strut Towers need replacement

n e one know of where i can go to get a replacement done for the strut towers… i went to this one body shop today… they quoted me 1500 and they said they rather not do it… so… its a 96 eagle talon i need both done but the passenger one is real bad! let me know thanks in advnace for your advice

That price seems reasonable. Afterall, they’re going to have to do it on a frame machine.

You own a DSM. You should be used to it.
On a serious note, you honestly think anyone wants to throw a rusty car on the frame machine, cut the strut towers out and weld new solid ones in? $1500 is a steal when you think about it.
Otherwise find a new shell.

Heres a good one. This is a pic of the passenger side tower in my old Rabbit truck. They are notorious for rusting out on that tower. The P.O. paid _ **$800** _ for this fix if I remember right, I found the receipt. It was deemed structurely solid by several professionals, who all laughed when they saw it. It had a “custom” strut tower brace that someone welded together, that I replaced with a good one. I paid less than the repair cost for the whole truck.

$1500 is what it costs considering everything that needs to be ripped out to properly weld the new ones in
hell, back into a pole w/ the same car and damage the back wall of the trunk and THATS $1500 in work … and thats just one piece of sheet metal and some bolt on parts
