# s13 crash test footage

i’d guess it’s because the car was designed before air-bags were commonplace. i’m not sure why they didn’t add them to the chouki S13 when the redesign happened (or at the very least, a driver’s one, since they replaced the steering wheel anyways). S14’s had them, obviously.
zenki S13’s were debuted in '88 as an '89 model, and airbags were just coming into the spotlight around that time. my girlfriend’s '92 Legend has driver and passenger, but it’s an Acura, which is and was an upscale brand…so maybe they were only available in luxury cars for the first while?
but that can’t be true either cause my first car i ever had ('91 Corsica 3.1) had a driver’s airbag…
all i know is that in the early days of airbags, those things were fucking SCARY! they would injure you as much as they would help you, which is why they came out with “second-generation” airbags in the late '90s, which were much safer.
i was scared shitless of the airbag in my Corsica. not only was it from '91, but the car had 380k on it so who knows if the thing would have even still worked properly…

S13’s sucked shit when it came to safety,… then again so did most other Jap cars back then.

My 92 Acura Integra does not have airbags at all, but i woudl be defiently be down for a group buy for rollcage, my 240 will need it

Are any of our sponsors distributors of Cusco stuff? I’ve seen what those cages can do. By all means, they’re not the be-all end-all of cages, but for us poor chaps, $750 for a 7-point is honestly cheap insurance, seeing that it can GREATLY increase the chances of survival of both yourself AND your passenger in the event of a roll over, or for some off reason that a large heavy object falls on your roof 😛
