# s14 brakes

are s14 240sx and silvia rear brakes exactly the same? or is there somethin different about the two? thanks

Not sure about S14 vs Silvia but S13 vs S14 there is a difference which is the piston dia. S13 has a 32mm Piston where as the S14 has a 38mm Piston.

So using S14 rears on an S13 will increase the rear braking bias slightly.

I would assume japan is the same way. S13 Silvia rears are the same as the usdm S13 etc and S14 Silvia rears are the same as the usdm S14

but the pads and rotors are the same?

Yup. Only difference with rotors would be between the 4 and 5 lug models etc but diameter and thickness of everything is all the same.

kyle, the brakes have plenty of meat left, unless you’re upgrading i’d just leave the rear brakes on that it came with.
