# s15 trans?

I heard in one of the forums, that the s15 6 speed close ratio is not a strong trans and that the normal s14 or s13 trans would be a lot better. Is it true?

from what I understand the bellhousing is the same size and therefore the gears themselves have been reduced in size to fit 6.
For this reason it can be assumed that the 5 speeds have stronger gears.
also the speed sensor is in the LSD in the S15 whereas its in the tranny on the S13/S14

say you had an s14 and u put a s15 in it, then you could just direct bolt on the 5 speed trany instead rite.

from my understanding yes, but I have never researched it, the harness/sensors MAY be a little different

I’m not so sure…
There’s gotta be a reason why nobody ever gets SR20’s from s15’s. Or at least almost never…

cost$$$, harder to find as well… more difficult to swap (into S13)
if I’m not mistaken, “superspeeding” has one, or at least thats my understanding

its for an s14, the s13 i got now is the winter beater, i m savin up for the s14.
