Well, in an attempt to save this topic from being TOTALLY useless… Saving Private Ryan is based on a good friend’s great uncle. I’ve seen the purple hearts, telegrams, and pictures of her next to Steven Spielberg. Was pretty cool to see all this stuff from WW2 that actually relates to the movie. ---
