# School me on Diesel Fuel.

It is dropping in price just like gasoline is currently. I paid $3.04/gal at the flying j truck stop in pembrook today.

Diesel is essentially a byproduct of refining gasoline so how the fuck can it cost more? It is a fucking sham. People that drive diesels usually do so for a living and can’t cut back on their driving like the average gas driving person. So the refining companies bump up the price of diesel to maximize profits.
_Fact_ The diesel engine was invented to run on peanut oil. The only reason they ever started running it on petroleum based diesel is because it was cheaper. :bloated:

and there is a lot of mystery surrounding Rudolph Diesel’s death.

A friend of mine just purchased a new TDI for his kid, can he run bio?
Only the older VDubs?

The new VW TDI is rated to run 5% biodiesel. I’d definitely not want to run WVO through it.

Agreed, running Bio will void the warranty, and who knows how the engine will run on it. WVO is even WORSE, the ALH, PD, are already vulnerable enough to it, I would imagine a kit on the new TDI would be destruction by 100,000 miles
