No firearms take a huge amount of time to reload. If it takes the cops 5-10min to respond and get organized you could fire a double barrel shotgun from the 1800s and still wipe out a ton of people. Most of these mass shooting don’t end up in a shootout between cops and the asshole doing it…The as soon as the person is challenged they usually kill themselves. The AR15 is one of the most popular rifles in the US it’s not some uncommon rare gun people seek out to commit crimes with. Look at the FBI stats if it was this end all be all weapon the crime stats wouldn’t be 98% or whatever handguns vs rifles. ---

but clearly not as good if you look at the link I provided. I just want somebody to show me a better gun or shut up about not understanding why people are going after these (regardless of if they want them banned or not). I don’t want them banned, but I understand why people are picking these and it’s not because they are black. AR15 just stands out as the clear choice unless you’re just trying to be argumentative. ---

If you really want to have this debate why wouldn’t they use AKs? Much cheaper and more reliable then AR along with firing a much larger bullet? ---

AK is more durable, projectile is larger and the projectile tumbles ripping and causing more damage than an AR. You throwing up an similar type gun that would also likely be banned at the same time doesn’t give you a win. Are my links wrong, I’m not gun owner, but I see people talking logically about guns and it appears to make sense. Fry is more on point, but if I was playing an online game I’d take the AR over the pistol for getting more kills. ---

What determines the outcome of all these shootings is how fast the person is confronted by police. You said FIND A BETTER GUN and I did. “well that is similar” The only thing similar is the fact it takes a magazine and is semi auto. AR 15s are expensive, not always known for greatest reliability, and fire a smaller caliber bullet then most rifles. ---

and that’s it’s a lightweight long barrel gun and so on. it’s obviously going to always be a military use/style weapon or the military is using the wrong stuff. fry, my point right now is not about what to ban, it’s about the best legal choice for a mass shooting. I don’t think a ban will work and I don’t want one. I 100% agree that banning AR/AK won’t really stop this sort of thing in America.
