i think somebody figured it out one time i cant find it anymore. but the cumulative environmental saving from the drive clean program is the equivalent of shutting a coal fired power plant down for 10 minutes or something like that ---

When you force an old car off the road in favour of a new one your harming the environment. Keeping an old car running is more beneficial to the environment then buying a new one. A new car has a lot more pollution associated in its manufacture and shipping then a old car running till its rotted and shooting black smoke out the back. So its common knowledge that drive clean is just becoming another program to force you to buy a certain way. It may not work well on all us car guys, but to the soccer moms, old people, and pansy males, they would rather buy a new car then deal with all this hassle. Doing more harm then good. That’s politics folks. ---

Stupid programs like these are a form of tax that take away money and living standards from the lowest of earners. Why are people forced to buy $20 Used Vehicle Info Package lol I dont care of my S14’s history, if someone wants it, they can buy it. TAX TAX TAX ---

Yea vote for conservative scum that privatize everything, cut corporate taxes, then sell all of ontario’s assets like the 407 (how did 8c/km become \>30c/km plus entry fees hmm?), skydome (bet you all love $20 hotdogs yummy), ontario hydro (we’re paying a private corporation to pay off the debt of the crown corporation they purchased???) etc only to cause govt deficits and rising utility and recreational costs?? No this isn’t some liberal scam to save the environment, it’s a plot to try and get service shops more work (just like the original e-test) without the huge overhead of buying a roller dyno they can’t recoup costs on And just like last time, it won’t add much money to the system directly, but more cars will go to landfill, so in theory more new cars will be purchased… except making a new car pollutes more than keeping an old car on the road, hence don’t buy a prius, save a clunker from the junkyard instead! ---

It’s not privatized if the government controls operation. 407 is on lease but prices and competition are controlled, based on the agreement with the province. Ontario Hydro was broken apart yet still are public / private entities. Prices are controlled and competition is severly regulated. Even TTC isn’t private since competition is regulated in TTC’s favor and fairs are artificially low because of subsidies (tax payer money). Skydome/Rogers centre is owned by Robers and the only true private biz you mentioned, but like movie theatres charging $10 for small coke and popcorn, its part of the biz when your limited to events. Down with ETEST!!! ---

it has been proven time and again anything the government runs or try to control will being run inefficiently. They should privatize everything including ttc just like they did the half the garbage collection for the city. You have retard bus drivers making ridiculous money with full pension plans with a high school education. ---

You even HAVE to get an appraisal on a car 96 and older for insurance to even talk to you, just another little cash grab for the government. And I hope everyone realizes, if this shit doesn’t go, the only way it can go is down. It’s gonna get worse, and from what I hear, if your cars got an engine swap, say peace to your car being allowed on the road. To the people that can afford a new car, all you can do is really not care because you CAN do what the government is basically making you do. I’m 19, I’m NOT gonna save up thousands for a car just so I’m able to drive. I want a car I like to drive, not a car I HAVE to drive because the government thinks my 92 hatch is destroying the ozone. ---

There is the law, you learn it and you abide by it, however there are loopholes, many many loopholes (for example, the registering and importing of RHD vehicles in our Province). But these loopholes come at a hefty price. Then you’ve got resources (who you know, what they can do to give you the upper hand etc). Stop bitching about the silliest things and either make some real money so you can fight the system, or find someone that can hook you up. Here’s a little tidbit of information. By law, in Ontario, no automotive insurance company can refuse to insure you.
