# Search no longer works with 3 letter search terms?

Search for “woot” returns lots of hits.

Search for “off” returns nothing.

I figured this out while trying to find the “All that is man” thread and I kept getting zero results.

honda-tech does this too, pretty frustrating.

As a software guy I understand why it’s done on big sites (way too large query sets killing the database), but NYSpeed is hardly that big and when the site was hosted on a decent host search speed was never an issue. I’m hoping this was just an overlooked setting and not done on purpose.

Usually you can place \* on the ends of the words and it will still work, but not in this case. example: _off_

yea, I searched for the all that is man thread and came up with zero results. manual searching ftl. I almost made a new thread because I couldnt find it.
