collectors will be here mid next week, all that is left to get these first sets of headers produced is the flanges! Should be very exciting ---

Materials have arrived for the first 2 prototype sets before production, here are some pics! PM with any questions and to pre-order! More pics. Plan is to have them done and ready for dyno on Sunday, where we can quantify the gains of our new exhaust and these headers over the smaller sized primaries and collectors from before. The first tube has to be squished 1/8" over 3 inches of length to give safe clearance to the steering shaft and bellhousing. A 1 3/4" ring is placed inside the header end of the tube, preventing it from taking on an oval shape when the die stretches the material. ![http://my350z.com/forum/members/sgsash-albums-long-tube-header-development-picture7047-shot-of-the-primary-steps-this-one-going-from-1-3-4-to-1-7-8.jpg](http://my350z.com/forum/members/sgsash-albums-long-tube-header-development-picture7047-shot-of-the-primary-steps-this-one-going-from-1-3-4-to-1-7-8.jpg) This tubing step from 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 allows the exhaust gasses to expand as they cool and reduce a buildup of restriction that a long small tube creates, without killing velocity at low engine speed - which would occur if the tube was 1 7/8s straight off of the head. The steps also act as a surface flow restriction for exhaust flowing the wrong way - preventing reversion. The tubes grow again near the collector to 2" on this application, however they will not on our production headers. ---
