# Sheet metal question

Hey, I’m going to have to do some rust repair on the frame rails, and I wanted to know what gauge to use. Also what gauge is used in the engine bay underneath the shock tower?

I believe normal body sheet metal is 22 gauge. Not sure about frame rails tho

I don’t know about the body but the frame rails are 0.050"~ thick. So they’re basically 17 gauge. But normally you can only buy 18 or 16

I used 18 when i did mine. worked fine. I mostly removed the rust and boxed the frame

Ive done a few of them and I wouldnt go less then 16 gauge,
