# Sheet Metal Thickness

What is the original sheet metal thickness on an s13? I am going to be doing some rust repair and need to know what to use.

the panels are pretty thin, i think it was 20 guage or 22 guage.

about 20 gauge for body and floor and 18 gauge for frame.

I was going to use 22gauge, but then I was looking at it and I thought “that has to be too thin” Guess not though. Thanks for the answer.

it’s easier to weld thicker sheet, I’d go with 20awg, you can always do the “fake” spot welds, drill holes and mig inside them to merge the two sheets

I repaired a wheel well, I made a frame for it with angle iron and spot welded like that, the sheet I did contiguous
