# Shifter feels loose in all the gears.....

Well when I put it into gear the shifter moves side to side like it was in neutral…is it a linkage bushing or something? Its for a 1993 subaru legacy wagon 5 spd awd.

Not sure with your specific car.
Depends on the shifter type, if it’s linkage style then it will be a worn bushing or loose adjustment most likely.
If it’s cable type, then make sure the clips are in place, check for play in the cable.

It was like that with my civic, I put in a short shifter for 5 bucks from ebay and it fixed the problem

Mine was getting loose too. (civic)
I put in aluminum bushings instead of the rubber ones. Helped a lot with some of the all around play.

my uncles civic was the same way, it should just be bushings worn or linkage related.

I have a set of all the stuff to replace the OEM parts.
(i wasn’t going to buy a short shifter but then changed my mind)
I also have an extra set of the Energy suspension stablizers.

the ones in my car are shot. i kind of prefer it like that. it’s more comfortable.

bump for this my civic has it bad…and there is a couple of bushing is it the one with the pin or the 12mm bolt? im assuming its the 12mm bolt linkage one. let me know if any of the honda boy knows and ilkk go pick them up today.
