# shifter removal.

how do i remove a stock shifter?

got all the nuts and bolts and what not off and now im just looking down at the shifter sitting on what appears to be a massive ball bearing.

what else do i need to do before getting it out.

if ur taking out the entire unit theres two more bolts behind the four bolts u took off already. you only need to do this if ur putting on the b & m shifter

where do u mean behind?

like underneath the center console towards the engine bay. or back towards the rear of the car?

im not too sure what your reffering to.

towards ur engine bay…jack up ur car…( make sure ur shifter boot is off so u get light to see where u are )

and feel for the bolts…chances are u are gonna need an open end wrench…

once its out u need wut jesse said…snap ring pliers…

^ yup hes right lol. i didnt jack my car up lol it depends how good u are with ur hands. i got the bolts out couldnt get them back in so a good buddy of mines did it for me. lol good luck
