Just make sure they’re into the same cars as you. Between the hubby and I, it’s a never ending domestic vs import battle. I want to choke him every time he calls my DSM an import.

DSM is a confused breed of cars, you have the LASER/TALON which is powered by the mitsu 4G63, using the eclipse chassis… but just badged by the american company… they are imports though, japanese design, japanese drivetrain… notice how the 2G talon/eclipse stil shared so much, and in 98 when the talon left, the eclipse was still there until 99… because plymouth died and so did eagle… DSM= import, sorry to say

Yea, I’m in a DSM family. Two of my brothers have DSM’s (99 GSX, 95 TSi FWD) and I had a 1G TSi AWD as my first car. Now I got my 'roo.
I was arguing with a girl earlier today abotu Nascar, aka high speed tailgating in a circle. Sometimes you just wanna choke a bitch.

We’ll just have to agree to disagree. The cars were assembled in the US. Period. And yes, due to this logic, I believe that the whole distinction between import and domestic is nearly null and void these days. All cars are mutts. Taking parts from this manufacturer, sharing technology, etc.
With your logic, all cars would be imports. Since most of the actual parts, i.e. GM, are made in Canada or Mexico, but assembled here.

Why do Import owners know more about Domestics than Domestic owners knowing about Imports?
Technically, it is NOT an import as it was assembled in the US unless my thinking is wrong. Is it JDM y0? Well, I am not sure who contributed what from each company. But, then again, is Hyundai who has plants in the US domestic?
As far as the 3/S is concerned, Mitsu/Dodge got their name on it but Dodge didn’t do a damn thing. Maybe someone can chime in who knows who contributed what for the DSM but I think its neither domestic/import as it was built in US and has ties to foreign.
