yeah that part was stupid for sure.
The rest of it was calculated enough though. They are some of the most talented riders out there though. The safety factor goes way up when you can hang a front tire for miles easier than some people can even ride a bike normally. But yeah the head on shit was dumb.
Skidplate. Like Vlad said, its power in numbers. There probably were cops at the ass end of the group the whole time. More or less to pick up the pieces if something were to happen. Speeds there were also around 30-50mph max a majority of the time. So no speeding, and all they could do is try to call in plates for the guys in the back and hope for somthing wrong there. The guys doing the stunts are reckless driving territory, but so far out of view they cant get a plate, let alone try to remember who did what and try to get them later on for what they saw.
Knowing some Gland and Sko-harry CO cops personally that have “dealt” with the 518 boys, they know they dont have a shot in hell at ticketing anyone, its not worth the risk to themselves, the riders, or the public chasing them or boxing them in, etc. infact sometimes they hear about it and wait at intersections, knowing that the riders ahead of the pack will ride and stop in the intersections, so the rest of the pack can roll the redlight and the cars have to sit at the green and wait to go by…

If someone from 518 did that, wiped out, and got seriously hurt or died…I’d have no sympathy. Sorry…but I would not. You’re asking for it doing stuff like that.

yep me neither. I am in the sport too, and love pushing the envelope, but thats just retarded.
EDIT. I am talking the wheelie into on coming traffic in the same lane.
