haha, i’m no stranger to taking a spill, but how bad could this be? Between mountain biking and wakeboarding, my body is in a perpetual state of pain.

Don’t put it too high and take it between the legs. That’s all sorts of different pain than the others. hahahaha

I need to get one!

Barefoot is the best way to learn IMO or at least I was told when CTN showed me how. Also, keep your weight on your front knee and step up with that, don’t try just “jumping” on thinking you can hold your balance because you won’t be able to especially at first. Keep both arms out to help balance yourself as well. You don’t want to look down at the line by your feet, look at the where it is anchored to at the other end of the line.

That being said, its something you have to practice often, can’t just hop on there and walk the line.

</div>

OK. I’ll give it a try barefoot.

I have some decent spots in my backyard to setup on actually, so I’ll probably have it setup for a few minutes of practice regularly.

I’m sure if you look online somewhere it will show you how to make the proper/most efficient pulley system to make it really tight.

The Gibbon is a ratchet-style kit, so no need for that. Just a basic 50-foot setup to determine interest level.

$50. Rei has it for 50 as well, but I had a credit available on the clymb.

A good tip would be to throw that gay thing away and make one out of 1" climbing webbing.

I know I should just shut up and ignore you, but oh well. I probably can’t even stand on it for more than 2 seconds, let alone take 2 or 3 steps, so what disadvantage will I really be at?

A grammatical disadvantage.

The thinner ones are more responsive, lighter and in my opinion easier AND more fun than a gibbon.

that makes sense… If I get into it I’ll probably sell the gibbon and hit up REI for some supplies to do a better one. I might have to cement a post in the ground in my backyard for it. The second tree that I was hoping to use isn’t looking so hot these days, and I don’t want to F it up. I wonder how deep a post needs to get put in… Probably 36-48"
