I don’t know anything about running the mile there - but why didn’t he launch the car at all?

As with drag racing, a hard launch has much less to do with trap speed than horsepower and gearing. Its a balance… not worth breaking your car for less than 1 MPH. The launch makes up a very small percentage of the overall accelleration time/distance.

not if ur in an AWD car…launch is very important…especially if done correctly

in a 1/8 or 1/4 mile sure…but over a mile it matters much less.
Just think about the % your “60 ft.” time is to the 1/8 and then 1/4 and then 1 mile.
