Never buy a used helmet or borrow someone else’s helmet. Over time the protective foam in helmets will adjust to the contours of a user’s head. A used or borrowed helmet may not offer as much protection as a new helmet.

Wearing the wrong size helmet can increase your risk of serious injury or death in an accident. A helmet that is too large for your head may be dislodged or knocked off in an accident.

Measure your head. Wrap a tape measure around your head about one inch (2.5 cm) above your eyebrows.

Just so everyone is clear, this helmet will be good for SoloII events (autocross, autoslalom) for 15 years. You NEED a Snell approved helmet to race at these events. It is not like at Bud Park where you just need a DOT approved helmet. These helmet is DOT approved as well and can be used for drag racing.

It can’t be used for Solo1 but I don’t think many of us have cars for that level of racing anyway (roll cages, etc)

HJC is one of the best selling brands of helmets. The only complaint I could find about these helmets is they have more wind noise than more expensive helmets. But if you are in a car, who cares!

I’ll definitely be in for one, but I want to actually try these on in person. Going by the head measurement my head is 60cm around, but I highly doubt a large or even extra large will fit me.

Anyone have any idea who sells these in the city so I can try them out?

Are you sure you guys have xxxl heads, that is pretty damn big, I have a big head and I’m only a large. Measure your heads guys, you don’t wanna get a helmet that’s too big.

My head is 63 cm around when I measured it. So a large probably wouldn’t fit. I’ve always had a really large head. Like beachball, made of bone. I am Lugash.
