# Snow Removal

Does anyone do snow removal services in the Dormont area? I am looking to get the sidewalk and steps shoveled at my rental property on a snowfall basis.

no I shovel my own driveway and walk just fine. It just does not seem logical for me to drive 30 minutes to shovel snow at the rental property when there are businesses that do this. I am just doing my part to keep the economy rolling.

Adding it to the rental contract might make sense. I was just unsure how to write it in and make it stick. Dormont threatens to fine the landlord 600 dollars if the snow is not removed within 24 hours of the snow fall. With that being hung over my head I would rather pay someone and trust that it will get done. Can one of you provide me the nomenclature you use inside your rental agreements?

Thats majority of the problem. When I lived onsite it was not an issue, I shoveled the walk and steps. Live and you learn I guess

I use a standard lease written by the association of Realtors. I’d be glad to e-mail you a copy of you like. There is a section in ours that covers utitlities and snow removal is one of them (you check Tenant responsiblity or Landlord responsiblity).
I have a duplex in Bellevue that I manage that has both tenants responsible for snow removal… I let them fight out who does it, but they split the fines if the owner gets one. We were threatened with a fine last year. They posted on both doors, and mailed a copy to the owner. Needless to say they got out there and cleared the snow.
