someone made this thread on the e30 forum, figured i’d see what’s up over here
here’s my setups;
On the left;
This years. Lib tech magne traction 156 w/ Burton Cartel bindings
on the right;
Last years. Lib tech Dave Lee 156 w/Drake f60’s
you can’t tell from the pic, but the white one has serrated edges. shit is fucking awesome, I will never buy a non-magne traction board again, unless I’m out west where i’d just have a big powder cruiser

^^^nope, i smashed my knee a few years ago, then got misdiagnosed, turns our a piece of my knee cap broke off and has been sliding around inside my knee=OUCH
so i was gonna get it removed, but they couldnt once then got inside, it had gotten attached to my MCL with connective tissue and they didnt want to risk getting it out cuz i wouldnt have been walking normally for a longer time.

Main ride: Lib Tech Jamie Lynn 151, Ride LS bindings (been riding K2 baseless for about the past 10 years, finally made the switch, soooooo much nicer, but the feel of rails on baseless bindings was f’n sweet) And ol skool DC lupine boots.
Rail board: Lib Tech Jaimie Lynn mini 141, w/k2 baseless binders. 🙂

Just curious, but does the magnetraction make that much a difference?
Can you still carve on ice with completely detuned edges? Like they claim? And does it affect slides and other shit?
I am j ust curious, because I know LibTech makes a ski now, and I’m pretty interested in hearing more about this. Because with park skis, your edges are typically completely shot after about a week of riding park. And I can’t turn for shit on ice as is.

uhhhhhh, so many ppl rocking LibTechs, hotness. Anyone remember the ol skool ones with the fucked up bends in tip and tail. They bent up to like a 90 degree angle (like the ol skool jamie lynns and matt cummings boards)

and i cant find the pic of my board, but it is a nitro 156 metal with burton boots.
I am going to need a new board for next year though, maybe i will join the lib tech group. Especially if the serrated edges provide that much better ice handling.

yea the magne traction really does make a huge difference. you can really put down a carve on ice. i think this is the direction for snowboarding.
pretty much all lib tech, gnu, and roxy (girls boards put out by the same manufacturer; Mervin, as Quicksilver owns all 3 companies) will have magne traction next year
we will be carrying the magne traction skis next season, too.
i’m also a big fan of the new burton cap strap. feels significantly more comfortable. plus you can ride your ankle strap a little bit more loose since the cap strap really holds you in.
next year, for the p1’s, p1 carbon, c60, and c02, they’re going to have the supercap strap, which is a bit different profile, and has a piece that goes underneath also. just holds the boot in even better
plus those bindings will all have gel pads in the heel. ooooh
