or did it? In the episode that Tony and Bobby were up at the lake, there was a conversation in which Bobby told Tony that “I think when you get wacked, you never really see it coming… everything just cuts to black”.

the other possible explanation of the final scene I can think of is to show the constant paranoia that Tony has to endure… always wondering if one of the random people at any restaurant could be there to wack him at any time.
