I see what you are saying, and i agree with the quality of an import such as a honda for a DD. My accord served me well to 230k miles (except the brake and fuel lines took multiple shits) Look, it all comes down to what you like. Many people on here are narrow minded, on the whole, its the import 4 life/Honda/1 year out of HS crowd. They fail to see the bigger picture of things. I consider myself a PERFORMANCE CAR enthusiast. I love my Ls1 because every time i drive it, i am always reminded why i bought it :). At the same time my other favorite cars are evos and 03-04 Cobras. My dad’s M3 was also a blast to drive and i would love to own one. I can appreciate other cars, import as well as domestic. But it seems a lot of people on here are either ignorant or unwilling to accept that something made by the big 3 can be a great car. ---

Yeah, then in that case I see what you are saying too in regards to ignorant people (something that Fry tried to tap into earlier in the thread). Personally, in my family, I will hold my stance that anything import we have owned has given us far less problems than anything domestic we have owned. Everything I have personally owned import has also held up better than anything domestic as well, so therefore, I hold imports to be the superior build. However, as soon as I start hearing more stories like my neighbors Tahoe that hasn’t given him a problem for 50k miles or my grandmas Impala that got driven into the ground seemingly repairlessly, I will then consider spending a decent dollar on something domestic. But this is where we get into the “has the critical damage already been done to domestic cars reputation,” argument. Im open minded enough to give domestics a run again (based on future good findings) but will people my age be willing to once they are 40 and have all the buying power? We remember how stubborn this generation is when it comes to “buy American.” Will my generation have a “Domestic Garbage,” mindset through their days? I hope not. ---
