GTO’s are sweet. The dealer where I got my GTP wanted me to get a GTO instead but he couldn’t lower the payments where I wanted them plus my insurance would prob skyrocket. Congrats on an excellent buy.

u might have been suprised…my insurance was cut nearly in half of what it was with the Dakota…didnt make sense to me but whatever!

yeah, GTO insurance is really cheap for what they are. Mine went down coming from a 10 year old v6 F-body. I think because the price tag was relatively high it cut down on the 16-year-olds-totaling-them factor

That’s what mine does if I lock it before someone closes the passengers side door. I wonder if the detailers managed to screw up one of your door switches.
And yeah, check out the menu by hitting the mode button just after startup. All kinds of fun things to play with in there.
Single button unlock
Headlight auto on settings
Headlight delay.
Interior light delay.
Radio speed sensitivity.
Stopwatch.
Trip computer settings.
Maybe something I’m forgetting.
And my insurance is cheaper on the GTO than the Expedition for every single category except collision, and that was because the GTO was worth about 10k more than the truck. Even then, it wasn’t that much different. 550/6 months, full coverage, 2 cars.

When chatting with the salesman I asked to testdrive the silver one they have, and he wouldn’t allow it because I had already told him I had no intention to buy. He knew I just wanted to take it for a quick joy ride, so he said no… Hows that not make sense?
Anywho, nice car! I am not a fan of pickups so the GTO is definately a better choice IMO.

went out and took some pictures tonight. i realized it wasnt supposed to snow until much later tonight, so i went out and cleaned up the car REAL fast and then took some pics. the car is still very dirty, and it shows, but you get the idea. Oh, i also took these with my old camera, i forgot the charge the batteries on my Rebel XT.

Mike FYI when you go to start it tomorrow, make sure you have the wipers turned off until you clear the windshield completely. It only took one attempted push to burn out my wiper motor during the october storm, and I just blew a fuse a couple days ago doing the same thing when my mom went to warm up my car in the AM

to be fair, i assume the wipers were a direct import and it doesn’t snow in australia. like ever.

I do have an idea of what I am talking about. I have spent a lot of time behind the wheel of hundreds of different cars at my old job. I have driven at least 20 or so F-bodys along with countless other live axle vehicles. I even did about 500 miles in a new body style Mustang GT, that Ford claimed had completely redesigned the rear axle pivot points to reduce the issues that are had with live axle designs. I still found that when hitting bumps in turns, the rear just would not track the way that you would want it to.
I will admit that typically a solid axle can handle more power, but that is its only advantage. Personally, I have no use for more than say 400 HP in what I like to do in a car, so finding a fully independently sprung application shouldn’t be too hard.

My biggest complaint about my GTO is that the black paint has so much metallic that no matter what lighting you take a pic, it always looks dirty. It looks like a dingy black. I wish they would have just used black with no metallic.

so apparently the wiper thing is a known issue, they installed a breaker in mine at culligan so i’d stop blowing up motors
