They pull the lense back, called “the flap” so the laser can correct the eye. They simply fold it back once the laser is done and the results are instanteous.

I had PRK done, this is where they take the entire lense off the eye and let it grow back on its own. Vision comes back better each day after the procedure, just takes about 2 or 3 weeks before you get to 100% results
