I’m in Texas now (Austin) and I want to buy a car.

Preferably something without a top.

Under $35k

If domestic can’t be from the 90s or later.

I’m kinda leaning towards something old and totally impractical

i would say get a bike but knowing your drinking habbits i can’t endorse such a purchase…how about a 911, nsx, elise…i have a soft spot for targas as you can tell.

you can get a used 335ic (hard top convertible) in that price range now. twin turbo, 6 speed (or auto), it’s the master of no particular area, but overall a great daily fun car.

Does this need to be a daily driver ? or a fun car?

i \<3 my M5… but the E65 is a good choice and can be had for 37-40k…

if you want old/impractical why not get a lincoln continental with the suicide doors like in entorauge… or an old toyota landcruiser that has been restored… those are pretty hot… and impractical

It gets hot as fucking fuck, so you may want to avoid a ragtop or an elise.

I know a guy in texas who puts his elise away in the summer because it’s too hot to drive it.

Are you by the river walk? Are you in Texas for good now? I purchased my M3 in Austin.

If you get a drop top make sure the A/C works. With the targa off, doing 120mph in the vette still feels like you’re on the sun.
