well its not so much that but once in a while the vcr gets set wrong or he forgets to turn the vcr off to enable the program to run. this would be “easier” and much cooler. ---

Yea I found out its pretty much pointless without a HDTV because the video cards cant support standard def resolutions. the upstairs vcr broke last night so I’m sure he is going to buy a replacement soon. Time to think of other presents. Maybe something for the wood shop. ---

As JayS said your best easiest bet for something like this is either TV provider DVR service or a Tivo. If your father is using SD TV still and has no plans for HD and is just getting the basic 1-99 type channels I have Series 2 Tivo Dual tuner that I got from a friend since he didn’t want it anymore that I’d sell ya if you didn’t mind it being used. Works fine. ---

I no idea what channels we get as I NEVER watch tv. He regularly takes shows up to the bedroom to watch before bed so I think its a moot point without getting really far into it with the “networked” dvr deals. Thanks for the offer though. ---
